The Academy Group was founded by Art Romero and Chris Howard in 2006. Roommates at the United States Air Force Academy who graduated in 1991, they each went on to pursue their individual careers in different and unique directions. As a result, they have developed a wide range of professional and personal relationships which allow them to source and then introduce exceptionally highly-qualified candidates to exceptionally high-quality companies.

Art Romero has been a professional recruiter for over six years. Focusing his efforts in the financial services industry, he has placed over 250 candidates in the past three years with companies including Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, Legg Mason, and Citigroup. Art is also an active pilot with a commercial rating and has provided flight instruction for numerous Air Force Academy cadets who have gone on to become active duty Air Force pilots.

Dr. Christopher Howard is a Rhodes Scholar and a Distinguished Graduate of the Harvard Business School. He is currently Vice President for Strategic & Leadership Initiatives at the University of Oklahoma and Director of the Honors College Leadership Center. Dr. Howard previously worked in executive positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb and General Electric. As an Air Force officer, Dr. Howard has served in many roles in the intelligence community and also earned his wings as a helicopter pilot.
