The Academy Group was founded by Art Romero and Dr. Christopher B. Howard in 2006. As roommates at the Air Force Academy who graduated in 1991, each of them have pursued their individual careers in different and unique directions. Between them they have gathered interesting perspectives from many different professional experiences.
Together, they are able to leverage a wide-range of professional and executive-level relationships in order to introduce exceptionally high-qualified candidates to exceptionally high-quality companies.

Art Romero has been a professional recruiter for a total of eleven years. Over the past seven years he has focussed his efforts on the Financial Services industry and has placed over 250 candidates with companies like Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley, Legg Mason and Citigroup to name a few. In addition to his recruiting efforts, Mr. Romero is also a Commercial Pilot which he enjoys pursuing on a part-time basis. He has instructed and helped several Air Force cadets and officers to become pilots in the United States Air Force. He volunteers his time helping coach a youth hockey league at the Air Force Academy. He also volunteers with an organization called Reach For Tomorrow helping disadvantaged youth participate in educational and flying experiences around the country.
In addition to the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, Dr. Christopher Howard is also a distinguished Graduate of Harvard University's MBA program. As an officer in the Air Force, Dr. Howard served in many roles in the intelligence community as well as earning his wings as a United States Air Force pilot.
He has served in high-level executive roles both at Bristol-Myers Squibb and at General Electric. He was recently named the President of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia becoming the first Air Force Academy Graduate to become a President of a college or university. He also currently serves on several Executive Boards around the country.
